A Concert and Fireworks at the Eiffel Tower for Bastille Day 2014

At the Champs de Mars, there will be an extraordinary concert to celebrate Bastille Day on July 14, 2014. This is happening right before the maginificent fireworks that go off in front of the Eiffel Tower to celebrate this holiday every year. As a result, the Eiffel Tower will be the site of amazing sights and sounds for visitors who happen to be in Paris in mid-July. It is possible for guests staying at one of the Sister Hotels Champs-Elysées to enjoy both by grabbing a spot on the Champs de Mars that magical night.

The National Orchestra of France and the Radio France Choir are coming together to perform an ensemble of classical pieces. Last year, the concert revolved aruond the theme 'Love in Paris,' making for an ideal summer night in the City of Light. This year, the theme will be different but no less spectacular, as the orchestra performs under the direction of conductor Daniele Gatti. The concert will also have an extra air of gravitas as the 100th anniversay of the beginning of the First World War is remembered. As such, the concert will focus on songs that evoke "War and Peace."

Last year was the first edition of the concert, and it attracted an impressive 500,000 spectactors, with an addition three million people watching on TV and listening on the radio. The success of the concert motivated organizers to make it an annual event, giving us the second edition of the concert this year.

The concert begins at 9:30 p.m. and lasts 90 minutes. Then, the fireworks begin immediately after at 11:00 p.m. Visitors should plan on arriving very early in order to get a good view of the Eiffel Tower. The concert will of course conclude with La Marseillaise, France's national anthem. It will be a powerful ending to a majestic night as fireworks light up the night's sky on one of the the most important days of France's history.
