D’Days 2015, the design festival in Paris
From the 1st to the 7th of June 2015, Paris celebrates design, with the D'Days Festival. This year's Design festival, formerly known “Designers Days”, will be presenting exhibitions and original installations on the theme "Experience".
This artistic event will be thus celebrating its 15th anniversary with many events specially organized for the occasion. For one week, the festival will visit 90 places in Paris and 120 events will be taking place in the capital to allow the visitors discover the artistic sphere that makes part of our daily life.
The festival is FREE, and open to all design enthusiasts, aiming thus to defend and represent the value of design. Each player participating in the festival area - editors, art and design schools, museums and art galleries – will propose its interpretation; in 2014, the festival presented nearly 100 participants in fifty places including 12 museums and iconic cultural sites.
This year, four courses will be set up to find out more about this art: the Royal Palace that will be hosting Decorative Arts exhibitions, the Tuileries that will be hosting the event "Garden, Gardens", and the “House of Denmark” that will be presenting a retrospective on the Danish furniture. Through the Marais Bastille via Republic, visitors will discover the creations of a dozen of designers at Bastille Design Center, the exhibition "Design Oracles" at the Gaite Lyrique and the "History of the invention of Design" at the Museum of Arts and Crafts.
Sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Communication, the Ministry of Productive Recovery and the City of Paris, D'Design Days festival seeks to increase its influence in the artistic sphere through renowned institutional partners.
In all, the festival will present 90 locations, 120 events and various thematic meetings to let us learn a little more about design.
Guests staying at the Sister Hotels from the 1st to the 7th of June will be lucky to assist to this significant festival. Mark your calendar and get ready for the event!
