Jeanne Lanvin Expo at Galliera museum
The Galliera Palace celebrates the oldest French couture house still active, in close collaboration with Alber Elbaz, artistic director of the Maison Lanvin. Dedicated to Jeanne Lanvin (1867-1946), the exhibition is the first Parisian retrospective that brings together, in a hundred models, outstanding funds from the Palais Galliera and Lanvin Heritage.

The Lanvin story began 126 years ago, in 1889 (remember that Chanel was founded in 1910, Christian Dior in 1946). Jeanne Lanvin begins as a courier apprentice at a milliner in 1885, she was then 18 years. Passionate about fashion, she decides to open his servant's room a small workshop to make hats. In 1889, at age 22, this young woman opens her first shop called "Lanvin Methods", at 16 rue Boissy d'Anglas in Paris. Four years later, it will migrate to the Rue St. Honore stay there until today.
