    La traviata: Giuseppe Verdi

    From May 20 to June 29, 2016, get enchanted by listening to one of the greatest pieces of classical music at Opera Bastille opera house, La traviata (The Fallen Woman) by Giuseppe Verdi.

    Written in three acts by the prolific Italian librettist Francesco Maria Piave (1810–1876) and originated from La dame aux Camélias (The Lady of the Camellias), a novel by the French writer and dramatist Alexandre Dumas, fils (1824–1895), La traviata’s world premiere took place on March 6th, 1853, at Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Italy.

    Under the conduction of Michele Mariotti and the direction of Benoît Jacquot, this show will offer you an opportunity to listen to this masterwork sung by a number of the best operatic singers including Sonya Yoncheva, Maria Agresta, Antoinette Dennefeld, Elisabeth Moussous, Bryan Hymel, Abdellah Lasri, Željko Lučić, Simone Piazzola, Plácido Domingo, Julien Dran, Fabio Previati, Boris Grappe, Luc Bertin-Hugault, Vincent Morell, Marc Chapron, and Andrea Nelli.

    This show of La traviata at Opera Bastille is provided with English and French surtitles and lasts approximately three hours and five minutes including two breaks.
