Oscar Wilde, l’impertinent absolu on view at the Petit Palais
From September 28th, 2016 until January 25th, 2017, the Petit Palais is presenting Oscar Wilde, l’impertinent absolu, the first exhibition ever devoted for Oscar Wilde, in France.
Born on October 16, 1854, in Dublin, Ireland, Wilde is considered to be one of the most celebrated literary figures of the 19th century. He was best-known for supporting the aesthetic intellectual art movement and notable for writing in various genres and forms, from novels to plays to poems and essays.
The exhibition Oscar Wilde, l’impertinent absolu, assembles around 200 pieces that mark the life of this great artist including manuscripts, old editions, photographs, drawings, caricatures, portraits, interesting interviews, and short excerpts taken from movies.
