Paris Hits the Bullseye with the Archery World Cup
The Archery World Cup is taking place in September, and visitors coming to Paris may be pleased to find out that the City of Light is hosting this year's championship. Guests staying at one of the Sister Hotels Champs-Elysées are especially well placed to enjoy the event as it is being organized at the Trocadero Square, not very far away from their rooms.
With the Eiffel Tower in the background, top international archers will face off against each other in a competition that will decide who is the best in the world. Participants will compete in several different categories, including male, female and mixed individual competitions using compound bows and classic bows. This gives fans of all types of archery the chance to see athletes in their favorite categories.
The Archery World Cup has previously been held in such majestic locations as the Mayapan pyramids in 2006, Dubai in 2007, as well as the beaches of Antalya and the canal of Ny Hawn in Copenhagen. Now, it is the beautiful fountains of Trocadero Square that will frame the action of this world-class sports event.
The road to the Archery World Cup is not an easy one, with archers needing to clear four competitive qualification rounds in order to reach this final level. Round one of the qualifications was held in May in Shangai and round two is currently being held in Antalya, Turkey. Rounds four and five are coming up in July and August, taking place in Medellin and Wroclaw, respectively. Then, the World Cup final will come to Paris on September 21 and 22, 2013.
Visitors who want to see the skill and mastery of athletes competing at the top levels of their sport should make sure to check out the website of the Archery World Cup in order to get more information on reserving tickets for this event.
