The Rarest Cars Right Before Your Eyes at the Tour Auto 2014
The Tour Auto is a huge automobile expo where some of the rarest vehicles in the world are put on display. On April 7, 2014, the 22nd edition of the famous event will take place in Paris. The next day, the vehicles will begin a five-day journey from Paris to Marseille, travelling through the heart of France in order to complete the annual trip
The cars will travel 200 kilometers, going through cities such as Dijon, Aix-les-Bains and Valence before reaching their final destination in the harbor town of Marseille. Final preparations and maintenance before the journey will take place right inside of the Grand Palais. Known as an immense and prestigious space for all kinds of events, the Grand Palais regularly welcomes art expos and fashion shows. On April 7th, however, it will the automobile industry that fills the luxurious halls of the historic Parisian monument.
Before the journey to the South of France begins, visitors will have a chance to see more than 200 collector cars, many of which have mythical reputations. Guests staying at one of the Sister Hotels Champs-Elysées are in luck because this event will happen at the Grand Palais, just moments away from their rooms.
Last year, the Tour Auto celebrated the Aston Martin as part of the 100th anniversary celebration of the iconic brand. However, this year its BMW's turn to be honored. Classic BMWs will share the spotlight with Mini Coopers, also owned by the BMW group. Visitors can therefore look forward to an ensemble of vehicles from fast and quirky to sleek and sophisticated.
