The World Cup, the Beach and Brazilian Culture on the Kia Cabana

To celebrate its sponsorship of the 2014 World Cup, the automaker Kia welcomes visitors to its festive barge at the Port des Champs-Elysées in the 8th arrondissement of Paris. Those who visit the barge can watch the matches while sipping on drinks or even take a capoeira course. As a result, the barge offers a little bit of Brazilian culture to anyone in Paris during the World Cup matches.

The barge events take place from June 12 to July 13, 2014, and Kia is gearing up to create a Little Brazil in Paris. At the Kia Cabana, the name given to the barge, visitors will discover palm trees, a beach space, a village space and a small stadium area. On the artificial beach, patrons can drink cocktails, have a lunch of Brazilian specialities — like Moqueca Baiana or Feijoada, or even check out young Brazilian fashion designers. On Sundays, a brunch is offered. There will also be photographic exhibitions including the work of four photographers selected to display their Brazil-themed pieces. Every week, a different photographer will be on display.

In the stadium area, the World Cup matches will be broadcast for all to enjoy. When there is no match to broadcast, friends and families are welcome to take part in dance courses including capoeira and salsa as well as fun activities like hat making and sing-alongs. For car aficionados, a group of seven special edition Kia automobiles, specially made for the 2014 World Cup, will be available to see and test drive.

Guests staying at one of the Sister Hotels Champs-Elysées can participate in this wide variety of events during their stay in Paris. The barge is located at the Port des Champs-Elysées, right next to their rooms. In this way, they can discover a slice of Brazilian life during their Parisian holiday.
